2. Same-Day Appointments & Availability

We aim to offer same-day emergency appointments, however:

• Same-day appointments are subject to availability

• We book up very quickly

• No appointment is guaranteed

• We always try to offer appointments whenever possible

We recommend contacting us early in the day to maximise availability.

3. Private Practice Status

Emergency Dentist Wakefield is a private practice only.
No NHS services are available.
All services are privately charged.

4. Appointments, Consultations & Fees

4.1 Emergency Consultation Fee

The emergency consultation fee is £45.
This fee covers:

• Your emergency dental examination with a dentist

• Assessment of your symptoms

• Discussion of your findings and treatment options

This fee does not include X-rays or any dental treatment.
These are charged separately.

4.2 X-Rays & Additional Treatment Costs

After your consultation:

• The dentist will advise if X-rays are recommended

• You will receive a treatment plan outlining all findings and fees

• You can then choose whether to proceed with treatment

There is no obligation to continue with treatment after the consultation.
However, the £45 consultation fee is non-refundable regardless of your decision.

4.3 Arrival Time

Patients must arrive on time for their appointment.

However, due to the unpredictable nature of emergency dental care:

• There may be a waiting time, even if you arrive on time

• Some treatments take longer than expected

• We treat all patients with the highest level of care and attention

We appreciate your understanding that emergency dentistry can vary in duration.

5. 48-Hour Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must provide at least 48 hours’ notice.

Late Cancellations

• Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in your consultation fee being retained

• A new consultation fee will be required to rebook

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Upfront Payment

All consultation fees, X-rays, and treatments must be paid in full on the day.

6.2 Dental Insurance Patients

If you have dental insurance, please bring your policy documents.

• You must pay for treatment upfront

• We provide all paperwork needed for you to submit a claim

• Insurance reimbursement is at the discretion of your insurer

7. Treatment Plans

We will provide a clear and transparent treatment plan, including:

• Diagnosis

• Recommended treatment options

• Risks and benefits

• Itemised fees

Emergency appointments focus on pain relief and stabilisation.
Further appointments may be required depending on your diagnosis.

8. Medical Information

You must provide accurate and complete medical information, including:

• Medications

• Allergies

• Medical history

• Recent dental treatments

This ensures your treatment is safe and appropriate.

9. Refund Policy

Due to the nature of emergency dentistry:

• All fees are non-refundable, including consultation, X-rays, and treatment fees

• No refunds are given if you choose not to proceed after receiving your treatment plan

• Refunds are not issued if an insurance provider declines reimbursement

10. Complaints Policy

Complaints should be made in writing.
We follow a clear and fair complaints process in line with CQC guidance.

11. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

• Appointment delays or waiting times

• Treatment outcomes affected by patient compliance

• Insurance claim decisions

This does not exclude liability for negligence.
